Acucomm Consulting was founded in 2020 and is based in Bluff, Durban. We are a Level 1 B-BBEE metering consultancy working with South African municipalities and utilities on metering projects and project management.

Our purpose is simple: help clients deliver metering programmes that are well planned, properly executed and accurately recorded, supported by our own platforms.

Leadership

Marcus Lee Thulsidas – Founder & CEO

Marcus has 22+ years of experience in smart metering, starting in 2003. He holds a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering from the Durban University of Technology (DUT) and played a key role in developing the world’s first STS-compliant prepaid water metering device in 2011. At a pioneering smart water metering company he became Product Support Manager in 2013 and Director in 2018, before founding Acucomm Consulting in 2020. Through strategic partnerships with major telecommunications companies, Acucomm facilitates smart metering projects. Marcus has authored industry papers and speaks on industry panels. His expertise spans firmware and system architecture, certification (STS, ICASA, NRCS, SABS) and large-scale implementation.
